China’s major logistics companies closed their operation for the Spring Festival celebrations
Beijing. February 16. Silkroadnews - Several China’s major logistics companies closed their operation for the Spring Festival celebrations, China Daily reports.
“A number of service stations in Beijing, Shanghai and Chongqing for delivery companies such as ZTO Express, STO Express and YTO Express said they have stopped all kinds of express delivery services and will resume services on Feb 23, the second day after the Spring Festival holiday,” the report says.
Meanwhile, SF Express and China Post still provide services during the holidays, and their offline service stations are still open for accepting express waybills, the report reads.
Zou Fuli, director of SF Express in Beijing, said, the number of daily express waybills for the week before the holiday was much larger than usual, although most of the deliveries in Beijing were intracity express terms.
According to Zou, nearly 4,000 workers will remain at work in Beijing during the Spring Festival holiday.
The report says, salaries for those employees of logistics companies working during the holidays due to their busy job will be twice higher than normal.
