EDB to provide Kyrgyzstan with $110 million loan
Almaty. March 14. Silkroadnews – The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) will provide Kyrgyzstan with $110 million loan to introduce into service the second hydroelectric unit at Kambarata HPP-2, KyrTAG reports.
The project’s total cost amounts to $138 million. The EDB loan of $110 million is provided for a period of up to 20 years, taking into account the five-year grace period for principal debt payment. The works are estimated to be completed in 3-4 years.
It is also reported, the project provides for the due construction and installation works, purchase, installation and putting into service the second hydroelectric unit at Kambarata HPP-2 with 120 MW capacity.
The project implementation will allow strengthening the energy security of Kyrgyzstan by increasing the electricity output generated.
