Kazakhstan hosts around 500 of refugees
Astana. March 28. Silkroadnews –Around 500 people in Kazakhstan are recognised refugees, as the head of of the MIA’s Committee of Migration police Serik Sayinov reports.
“As of today, there are 497 recognised refuges in Kazakhstan, which constitutes 121 families”, Mister Sayinov said after the meeting with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees in Central Asia.
“… 297 of those are Tajik Nationals, another 98 are pushtuns”, he added.
There are also 29 asylum seekers, whose cases are currently being considered.
Most of the recognised refugees reside in southern regions of Kazakhstan. They don’t experience any problems getting access to employment and education, as Mister Sayinov assured.
