Pakistani PM held talks with Afghan leadership
Beijing. April 9. Silkroadnews - Afghanistan’s President Ashraf Ghani held talks with Pakistani Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, who arrived in Kabul, the Afghan Telegraph Agency (AfTAG) reports.
Among the issues discussed there was the issues of cross-border attacks by the Pakistani forces, including the attacks in the province of Kunar resulting in losses and material damage.
Ghani stressed that such a situation does not benefit anyone and called for resolving the issue through the negotiations.
During a separate meeting with Abbasi, Prime Minister Abdullah Abdullah stressed that terrorism is a serious obstacle for economic development.
He noted the need for an active fight against terrorism from each country, inviting the theologians of Afghanistan and Pakistan to release a joint fathah against terrorism.
The economic issues covered also included prospects for regional cooperation, transit of electricity, goods exchange, construction projects for Quetta-Kandahar-Herat and Peshawar-Jalalabad railroads and the road connecting Peshawar with Jalalabad.
