Xi Jinping instructed to create a military high-level scientific research institute to support army

Beijing. May 18. Silkroadnews - Chairman Xi Jinping stressed the need to accelerate the development of modern military science and building the high-level military research institutes to create a strong army, Global Times reports.
Noting that military science is an important force in guiding military practice, Xi said that the research should be combat-oriented, meet the needs of the armed forces and be forward-thinking.
He also called for closer integration of military theories and technologies, research and practice, and military and civilian uses.
Having visited the Medical Research Institute of the Academy, Xi said he was impressed with their achievements.
Xi urged the leading military scientists to make a greater contribution to the building of a strong army. He instructed the authorities to take care of experts and respect them, as well as to form a team of high-level military researchers.
Xi called for accelerating the implementation of the strategy to strengthen the armed forces through science and technology, consolidating and strengthening the advantages in the relevant areas, and greater innovation efforts in emerging fields, the publication says.
Scientific and technological innovation should focus on the need of the war and contribute to improving the military’s combat capability, Xi Jinping said.
