Almaty. June 15. Silkroadnews - $100 billion of investments will be required to Iran in the coming years for the development of the gas industry in the country. This was stated by Director of International Relations of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) Azizullah Ramazani, informed the Iranian News Agency (IrTAG).
In the coming decades, according to A.Ramazani, natural gas will be one of the most consumed in the world fuels. And Iran, according to the latest report of the company BP, has the world's largest reserves of natural gas in the amount of 34 trillion cubic meters.
Currently, Iran produces 166 billion cubic meters of gas a year, but exports only 10 billion cubic meters.
According A.Ramazani, Iran intends to increase gas exports to 200 million cubic meters per day for the next four years. He also noted that this will actively develop the South Pars field - the world's largest field. And Iran expects expansion of foreign investment in this area after the lifting of sanctions.
