12 Kyrgyz citizens were released from slave labor in Russia and returned to their homeland

Almaty. August 14. Silkroadnews - Kyrgyz Embassy in Russia has assisted 12 citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic in the liberation from slave labor, reported KyrTAG with reference to the embassy on Thursday.
"Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Moscow was addressed by a woman, who told that her sister and a number of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic were under a hard dependency on employers in Tula, and can not break free to get their documents and earned money"- informs the embassy.
Consular officer from Embassy went to Tula on August 12. Together with representatives of local law enforcement agencies, they arrived at the named address where they found a group of 18 Kyrgyz migrants.
Citizens of Kyrgyzstan told that they have arrived by efforts of a woman who called herself Makhabat. She had promised to arrange for Kyrgyz citizens temporary work in Russia, promised salary of 12 thousand rubles per month with free accommodation and meal. In early May of this year, formed group went from Bishkek to Moscow. There they were met by representatives of Caucasian nationality and taken to Tula.
According to Kyrgyz citizens, they had to work from morning till late in the evening on the fields, seven days a week without rest, even for sickness. Lived in a little habitable conditions, they were kept on a lean diet. And all requests to pay the money earned and return the passport ended in threats, often beating. One of the woman who was pregnant, lost her baby, and the other was raped by one of the employers.
After arriving of Kyrgyz diplomats and intervention of law enforcement, the rapist and his friend who had beaten migrants went on the run. Three other organizers of servitude went under Russian law enforcers. Six migrants still choose to continue to work, twelve citizens together with Kyrgyz diplomats arrived in Moscow.
Through the efforts of the head office of the International Organization for Migration in the Kyrgyz Republic B. Moldobaeva (donors - Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway and USAID in the Kyrgyz Republic) purchased tickets to all citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic, who are in labor bondage and now they are returning to their homeland.
At this time, the staff of the Consulate is considering the issue of payment of their earnings and to prosecution of those involved in the case.
