16 IS militants arrested in Western Iran: IRGC Commander

Beijing. January 29. Silkroadnews - 16 IS militants have been arrested in Western Iran, Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said, the Iranian Telegraph Agency (IrTAG) reported referring to Tasnim News Agency.
The Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Ground Force Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour reported a terrorist cell linked to the ISIS in western part of Iran has been detected with 16 IS militants arrested, the report said.
After several days of intelligence activities, the IRGC ground force’s Najaf Ashraf base started an operation to eliminate a 21-militants terrorist cell in the west of the country.
Pakpour said, during the operation the IRGC managed to seize the militants’ hideout and arrest 16 members of the terrorist cell. Several terrorists were killed in the clash, two militants are still at large, but the district is surrounded by the IRGC forces.
