Almaty. December 6. Silkroadnews - 50 of China’s 100 most wanted criminals have already been detained, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China reported, Xinhua wrote.
“China’s top anti-corruption authority announced the capture of a “red notice” fugitive suspected of business fraud who had fled China since 2008,” the report said.
According to the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China, Zhou Jiyang, a former party official in Zhejiang Province, was the 50th returned fugitive from the 100 most wanted criminals in China.
In April 2015, the National Central Bureau of Interpol in China released a list of 100 fugitives suspected of involvement in corruption, whose arrest has been warranted by Interpol.
Many of the fugitives were the former government officials or employees of state-owned enterprises.
The progress in tracing and detention of criminals from the list showed the determination and confidence of China in its fight against corruption, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection said, adding that the remaining fugitives will be returned to China and brought to justice.
