61 seniors have been retired from security forces of Afghanistan
Beijing. May 23. Silkroadnews - The Ministry of Defense of Afghanistan retired 61 generals from the service in Kabul on Monday, the Afghan Telegraph Agency (AfTAG) reports.
Chief of General Staff Afghan National Army General Mohammad Sharif Yaftali and Minister of National Defense Shah Bahrami thanked the generals for their service and contribution to the country’s security provision, Pajhwok Afghan News reported.
With this, as Bahrami noted, some of the retirees with the proper level of competence may continue working for the benefit of the country as civil servants, including working at the posts of governors, heads of counties and their deputies, as well as analysts and advisers on national security issues.
This is not the first mass retirement of high-ranking officials of the Ministry of Defense of Afghanistan. After several attacks in Kabul last winter 162 generals have been retired according to the presidential decree. This time the decision has also been taken by the head of the state.
