Almaty. August 18. Silkroadnews – 69 countries and international organizations signed agreements with China on cooperation in One Belt, One Road initiative realization, China Radio International reported.
69 countries and international organizations have made agreements with China on cooperation in One Belt, One Road initiative realization so far, according to China’s National Development and Reform Commission, the report says.
At the same time, it is noted the initiative realization is getting linked with the Eurasian economic union development, new economic policy of Kazakhstan “Nurly Zhol” and the Saudi Vision 2030 program, as well as with the China-Mongolia-Russia economic corridor implementation. In addition to Asian and European countries, the countries of Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean also take active part in One Belt, One Road initiative construction.
China’s enterprises are actively involved in the economic development of regions along the initiative route.
The Jakarta-Bandung and China-Laos lines are in process of construction; the Gwadar port works are also carried out rapidly. The railway lines of Addis Ababa-Djibouti and Mombasa-Nairobi have been put into operation. The China-Myanmar oil pipeline have been opened formally. More than 4,000 freight trains have been delivered on the China-Europe routes thus far. In terms of production capacities China cooperates with more than 30 countries, including Kazakhstan and Ethiopia, the report said.
According to the publication, in January-June 2017 Chinese enterprises invested $6.61 billion in 47 countries along Belt and Road route, which is a 6% increase compared to the same period of last year. The China Development Bank and the Export-Import Bank of China provided loans to countries along the Belt and Road route for a total exceeding $110 billion. Outward investments from the Silk Road Fund exceeded $6 billion. The agreements on currency swaps China signed with 22 countries and regions along the Belt and Road route total nearly 1 trillion yuan.
With this China actively facilitates humanitarian exchanges with the states located within the initiative area, including education, tourism, environmental protection, combating poverty and desertification.
