A citizen of Kazakhstan detained in Bishkek worked to deliver militants to Syria

Almaty. September 7. Silkroadnews – Officers of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) of Kyrgyzstan have detained a member of an international terrorist organization, KyrTAG writes.

«Within the framework of counter-terrorism measures program on September 2, 2016, the Kyrgyz State Committee for National Security identified and detained in Bishkek a member of the international terrorist organization, a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mammedov Shamo Rzaevich, 1988, arrived in Kyrgyzstan», press-release by the Department of public relations and media communication of the SCNS says.

As a result of search operations it was found out that S. Mamedov was waiting for instructions from the leaders of the terrorist organization. With this, while staying in Kyrgyzstan, he also worked to follow the terrorist organization instructions to organize the militants’ delivery to Syria for fighting.

The criminal case has been opened under art.346, part 1, and art. 350, part 2, of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The detainee has been taken into custody. The investigation is ongoing.
