A new national strategy for sustainable development is developed in Kyrgyzstan

Almaty. June 30. Silkroadnews – Kyrgyzstan’s ministry of economy has begun to work out a new national strategy for sustainable development, Kyrgyz deputy minister of economy Daniyar Imanaliev stated, KyrTAG wrote.

“Kyrgyzstan is one of the first countries in Central Asia, which has expressed a commitment to the goals of sustainable development, and the national sustainable development strategy developed, approved and implemented to be completed in 2017 serves to show the proof of such a commitment. As a part of this strategy, Kyrgyzstan officially headed to the sustainable development. The tasks that were part of our strategy, the model suggested the solution of complex issues related to economic, social and environmental aspects,” D.Imanaliev said at International Conference on the Natural Capital for the Transition to a Green Economy on Thursday.

He reminded last year the UN defined 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

“After the world leaders adopted 2030 Sustainable Development by the UN, we have carried out a number of activities, in particular, we have established a coordinating committee for adaptation, implementation and monitoring of sustainable development,” the official added.

He also added, a draft road map is under development at present for the next steps.

“The first five-year plan of the National Strategy for Sustainable Development is to be completed in 2017. We have already begun work on the subsequent five-year period, taking into account our vision and the sustainable development objectives,” D. Imanaliev said.
