A Russian citizen has been detained in Bishkek on suspicion of implication in IS activities

Almaty. August 26. Silkroadnews – A member of the «Islamic State» terrorist organizations has been detained in Bishkek, KyrTAG reports.

«On August 26, 2016, officers of the Department of Internal Affairs of Bishkek jointly with the State Committee for National Security carried out operational-search measures based on the information received, which resulted in arrest of active member of a clandestine terrorist organization Islamic State, a citizen of the Russian Federation, R.I., 43, who lived in a rental apartment in Bishkek», press service of the police department stated on Friday.

While executing a search of the apartment police found a large quantity of extremist literature and ammunition, including stun grenades and bullets.

At present investigation and operational-search measures are carried out to establish criminal contacts and associates of the clandestine terrorist cell.
