A share of industry within GDP of Tajikistan has decreased by 4.5% over 10 years
Almaty. February 23. Silkroadnews – A share of industry within the GDP of Tajikistan has decreased by 4.5% over 10 years, Tajik Telegraph Agency (TajikTA) informed on Thursday.
“A share of industry within the gross domestic product of Tajikistan has declined significantly over the past 10 years. In particular, ratio of industry in total volume of GDP decreased from 21.3% in 2006 to 16.8% in 2015”, the National Development Strategy of Tajikistan for the period till 2030 says.
It is noted in the document, until the present the country has no national industrial policy, there is a high consumption of materials and energy by individual industrial plants.
The low profitability of this sector, according to experts, can be explained by lack of deep processing of raw materials and low value-added of products.
With this it is also emphasized that one work place created in the industry in Tajikistan can generate 9.7 times more income compared to the one in the agricultural sector.
