About 530 thousand tonnes of Kazakhstani grain was exported to Iran in the first half of this year

Almaty. August 15. Silkroadnews – For January-June 2016 Kazakhstan exported to Iran 529.7 thousand tonnes of grain, press service of the Kazakhstani Ministry of Agriculture reported.

“For January-June 2016 exports of Kazakhstani grain towards this direction (to Iran – Silkroadnews) amounted to 529.7 thousand tonnes, including 222.1 thousand tonnes of wheat”, press release by the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan states.

“From 2011 to 2015 Kazakhstan exported to Iran more than 4 million tonnes of grain (in 2011 – 401.3 thousand tonnes, in 2012 – 950.2 thousand tonnes, in 2013 – 757.6 thousand tonnes, in 2014 – 1 166.1 thousand tonnes, in 2015 – 758.3 thousand tonnes)”, the statement says.

It is noted, Iran is a traditional importer of Kazakhstani grain.
