About 65 percent of the development budget will be spent by the end of the fisal year - Minister of Finance of Aghanistan
Almaty. October 27. Sikroadnews - Eklil Hakimi, Minister of Finance participated in a general meeting at the Afghan Parliament (Wolisi Jerga) regarding budget, revenue collection, continued international assistance, budget deficit and the fight against corruption among many other issues. The Minister stated that by the end of this fiscal year 100 percent of the operational budget and 60—65 percent of the development budget will be spent. The IMF, World Bank, Asian Development Bank and USAID have committed large sums of money for the next 3 years. In terms of revenue, the Minister added that the revenue collection in the last 10 months have been unprecedented compared to the last 10 years. As the Minister of Finance, he stated, that he will now allow anyone to evade tax or commit fraud. In addition, he said, he is committed to fight against corruption at the Ministry of Finance.
