ADB donates Kyrgyzstan $30 million to strengthen technical and vocational education

Almaty. November 22. Silkroadnews - The Asian Development Bank will allocate $30 million to Kyrgyzstan to strengthen technical and vocational education, the Kyrgyz Telegraph Agency (KyrTAG) reports with reference to the ADB press service.
“The Board of Directors of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved $30 million grants to support Kyrgyzstan’s efforts to strengthen technical and occupational education and training, a key factor to ensure inclusive and sustainable growth in the country,” the report said.
ADB’s assistance consists of a $12 million program grant to support major policy reforms and $18 million project grant to finance the investments to implement reforms at the local level. Both grants are funded by the Asian Development Fund, a source of funding for ADB grants.
The program provides for an increase in the number of students through the skills development fund up to 5,000 or more people and the improvement of the quality of teaching and learning environment by upgrading the skills and competence of 3,000 teachers and masters of training and 4,000 students and students in priority occupations. The support will also be provided to strengthen training in the workplace, introduction of entrepreneurship education and effective partnership between the branches and educational institutions.
