Advisor to the President of Iran called for the expansion of trade ties with neighbors

Almaty. November 24. Silkroadnews - Advisor to the President of Iran, the secretary of the Coordinating Council of free and special economic zones of Iran Akbar Turkon said that trade with their neighbors should be a strategic activity in furtherance of the policy of "economy of resistance", informs the Iranian News Agency (IrTAG) on Monday.
As noted A.Turkon at the workshop on the development of the economy, held in the city of Mashhad province of Razavi Khorasan Province, Iran's foreign trade activity as little as possible should be exposed to external factors, and for that Iranian companies and the business community should develop trade relations with neighboring countries since such links least exposed to sanctions policy of Western countries.
According to him, an important link with neighboring countries are free economic zones. All of them are on the borders, and their task is to establish trade relations with its neighbors. For example, FEZ "Arvand" successfully trading with neighboring Iraq.
However A.Turkon stressed that Iran belong to the highest places in the world in the production of five products: cement, steel, automobiles, petrochemicals and electricity. As for cement and steel, their production refers to the energy-intensive areas, and Iran has enough cheap energy. The success of the petrochemical industry due to the presence of cheap raw materials as natural gas. A power generation was further developed with significant investment in generation, transmission and distribution of electricity. In addition, the country produced by the domestic experts turbines and generators, said the Iranian president's advisor.
