Afghan president has promised to hold parliamentary elections in 2016

Almaty. December 30. Silkroadnews - Afghan President Ashraf Ghani has promised to hold parliamentary elections in 2016, local media reported.
"The elections to the lower chamber (Wolesi Jirga) and the upper House of Elders (Meshrano Jirga) will be held in the period from summer to autumn next year", - said the president of the IRA.
The Head of State pointed out that "in the near future the country will carry out the reform of electoral bodies, and then decide the date of the parliamentary elections which will be appointed to the Independent Electoral Commission".
As noted, the 5-year term of office of the current Parliament expired on June 22, but the elections to be held in April, were canceled.
