Afghan troops lack modern weapons and combat aviation, the expert believes
Almaty. May 19. Silkroadnews – Afghan troops lack modern weapons and combat aviation, officer of Afghan special forces Muhammad Khazara, the Afghan Telegraph Agency (AftAG) reports.
Muhammad Khazara said that Afghan special forces were trained on the NATO countries’ standards and training programs. Yet, a lack of modern weapons, combat aircraft and helicopters resulting in a lack of fire support from the air puts the Afghan special forces into a difficult situation on the battlefield.
It is noted that Khazara joined the ranks of the Afghan special forces eight years ago. During this time, he repeatedly took part in combat with extremists.
The number of Afghan special forces is about 11 thousand people and the government of Afghanistan considers the possibility of increasing the number of special forces.
