Afghanistan is developing only 4% of it's total oil and gas fields

Almaty. May 8. Silkroadnews - Afghanistan develops only 4% of its oil and gas fields. This was announced at an inter-ministerial committee on energy in Kabul, said Afghan News Agency (AfTAG).
The event was attended by representatives of large private companies. Deputy Minister of Mines of Afghanistan Javed Sadat said that contracts have been signed for only 10 thousand sq. km of more than 270 thousand known deposits.
Accoring to the Minister of Economy Abdul Sattar Murad, the committee meeting is scheduled to be held monthly to enhance cooperation with potential investors in the energy sector.
He appreciated the past meeting of the Commission as a successful. Also were discussed issues on the implementation of energy projects at the regional level - the construction of the TAPI gas pipeline and CASA-1000 transmission line.
