Afghanistan plans to grow saffron in all regions of the country

Almaty. July 22. Silkroadnews - The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan (IRA) plan to expand the area of cultivation of saffron n all 34 regions of the country, said Afghan News Agency (AfTAG) on Wednesday.
As explained by officials from the Ministry of Agriculture, Iran plans to distribute about one ton of heads of saffron to farmers in all 34 areas, so that to expand the area of cultivation.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, in 2014, the harvest of saffron was 4 thousand kg, and they will try to surpass this figure in 2015.
Office reported that effective training programs of farmers in the region are underway, and they also will help with modern equipment in the process of harvesting.
