Almaty. April 26. Silkroadnews – Afghanistan does not longer need the mediation of the government of Pakistan in bringing the “Taliban” movement into the negotiation process, president of Afghanistan Ashraf Ghani said, Afghan news agency (AfTAG) reports with reference to the Russian mass-media.

“Afghanistan does not need Pakistan’s intermediary services in bringing the Taliban to the negotiating process. Islamabad has promised to help us, but now there is no need for this,” A. Ghani said.

As the head of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan explained, such a rejection to cooperate with Islamabad was caused by anti-Afghan policy the Pakistani side has consistently pursued.

“We want Pakistan to fully implement the previously undertaken commitments to fight the “Taliban” movement militants from the beginning to end. (…) Pakistan shall act responsibly. The terrorist group ISIS, the Haqqani group and certain elements within the “Taliban” structure are the enemies of Afghanistan,” he added.

While giving comments on this issue TASS explained the relations between Islamabad and Kabul have deteriorated for the recent time. After recent attacks by “Taliban” militants, including Kunduz city seizure in September 2015, the Afghan officials accused Pakistan of trying to destabilize the situation in the country through the tacit support of the Taliban. In turn the Pakistani side says about the Afghan participation in a number of recent terrorist attacks occurred in the north-western regions of the country.
