Afghanistan sees 3.7-fold increase in import of Kazakh flour between January and April
Astana. June 2. Silkroadnews – Kazakhstan increased its export of wheat and wheat-rye mixed flour to Afghanistan to 223 600 tonnes (USD 72.5 mln) between January and April 2014. This signifies 366.9% increase in quantity and 308.9% increase in receivables compared to the subsequent 2013 period. This was reported by the Customs Control Committee of Kazakh Ministry of Finance.
As the published data indicates, Kazakhstan’s export of flour to non-Customs-Union countries reached 627 700 tonnes (USD 181.5 mln) between January and April 2014. This signifies 33.5% increase in quantity and 16.1% increase in receivables compared to the subsequent 2013 period.
The main importers of Kazakh flour for this period are:
Uzbekistan – 301 800 tonnes (+6.2%);
Tajikistan – 61 400 tonnes (-7.8%);
Kyrgyzstan – 21 300 tonnes (- 48.8%);
Turkmenistan – 17 900 tonnes (+35.2%)
