Afghanistan set to continue strengthening relations with China – Karzai

Kabul. March 28. Silkroadnews – Afghanistani President states that relations with China are set to continue strengthening, as Wadsam business news website reports.
As the President highlighted, the Sino-Afghan cooperation in the areas of terrorism prevention, regional stability promotion and economy are of particular importance to both countries.
“My message addressed to the people of China is a sign of goodwill and appreciation from the people of Afghanistan. Chinese people were kind to us”, Karzai reportedly told in an exclusive interview to Xinhua at Presidential residence.
“Xi Jinping’s idea on construction of the Great Silk Road economic belt is an important decision taking into account the modern international environment. This will enable us to solve a number of current economic issues. We will be directly connected to China through this Silk Road”, Karzai reportedly explained.
The Islamic Republic’s President highlighted the close nature of cooperation that has developed between two countries within the last 12 years. Afghanistan is “without any doubt, interested in further strengthening of cooperation with China”, he reportedly stated.
