Afghanistan to attract Czech investment into livestock sector

Almaty. August 4. Silkroadnews – Afghanistan intends to attract Czech investments in the livestock sector, the Afghan online magazine TOLO news reported.
According to publication, Afghanistan’s agriculture minister Assadullah Zamir said the livestock sector has been left untouched in the past two decades and Afghanistan intends to improve the situation by attracting investments into this sector.
With this, meeting with his Czech counterpart, A. Zamir also noted, the ministry will make every effort to attract the attention of Czech businessmen to the agricultural sector of Afghanistan. “He said Afghanistan sees livestock as a key sector for the country’s economy, adding that he has discussed the issue in detail with the Czech Republic's agriculture minister”, report said.
“Livestock, animal breeding in particular, is one of the areas where we can use the Czech Republic’s expertise to improve the sector in Afghanistan”, he added.
At the same time, Minister of Agriculture of the Czech Republic Marian Jurecka, on his visit to Kabul, said that his trip is aimed at improving cooperation with the agricultural sector of Afghanistan.
“On behalf of the Czech government and on behalf of the ministry of agriculture I would like to say that our task is to support not only in the area of security and education but also in the area of development of agriculture projects and this is precisely the purpose of my visit today”, he said.
It is reported that the Czech Republic has already carried out a number of livestock breeding projects in Afghanistan.
