Afghanistan will submit a request in Ufa on the status of a permanent membership in the SCO

Almaty. June 17. SIlkroadnews - Afghanistan plans to apply for membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) during the forthcoming summit in Ufa, scheduled for July 9-10, said Afghan News Agency (AfTAG).
Currently discussed details of bilateral and multilateral meetings of heads of state on the upcoming forum.
The desirability of membership of the IRA in the SCO was earlier mentioned by CSTO Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha, who believes that this will allow to more effectively combat the region with international terrorism and drug trafficking.
In the meantime, the IRA has observer status as part of the alliance.
