After 13 years of ban China to renew beef deliveries from US

Almaty. September 21. Silkroadnews – China to begin importing beef from the United States, having lifted a 13-year ban on shipments between the two countries, RBC reports.

As Li Keqiang. Premier of the State Council of China, said during his speech at the 71st session of the UN General Assembly, the US companies’ products are of high quality.

«We understand the United States produce good beef, why should we then deprive the Chinese consumers of this choice?», he asked.

The Chinese spokesman did not specify the terms in which this initiative will be implemented. The publication notes that trade groups can resume the US beef imports before the end of the year.

In 2003 China imposed a ban on imports of most of the beef from the United States. Restrictive measures have been taken to prevent «mad cow disease» virus from entering China.
