Agreements on 13 projects for over $608 million were signed in Tajikistan in 2017

Beijing. February 14. Silkroadnews - Agreements on implementation of 13 investment projects for over $608 million were signed in Tajikistan in 2017, the Tajik Telegraph Agency (TajikTA) said on Wednesday.
To implement 13 investment projects with development partners Tajikistan has signed 18 new agreements totaling over $608 million in 2017, which is $362 million more compared to 2016, the agency cited the head of the State Committee on Investment and State-owned Property Management Farrukh Hamralizoda.
Of this amount around $475 million are provided through loans and another $134 million -  through the grant funds.
According to F. Hamralizoda, signed last year the new agreements allocate $50 million to support the state budget, over $385 million - for energy development, $75 million - for transport sector, $50 million - for prevention of emergencies, $36 million - for education, and more than $11 million planned to be directed to the housing and communal services development.
68 state investment projects have been implementing in the country as of January 1, 2018, including 25 grant projects, 14 credit projects and 29 credit-grant projects totaling 24.9 billion somoni ($2.8 billion), the head of the state committee said.
According to him, 2.59 billion somoni ($293.3 million) have been absorbed within the framework of implementation of ongoing investment projects in Tajikistan in 2017.
