Aktau celebrates 200th anniversary of Taras Shevchenko

Aktau. May 30. Silkroadnews – Aktau celebrates 200th anniversary of Taras Shevchenko. He was a prominent Ukrainian poet, novelist, painter and an ethnographer.
“The celebration started with laying flowers to the monument of a famous Kobzar. Delegations from Russia and Ukraine took part in the ceremony”, KazTAG informs.
The celebratory event’s continued at the Caspian State University of Technologies and Engineering. A seminar on “Kobzar’s liberating ideas” was held.
The celebrations also continued at Fort Shevchenko, as he spent 7 years of his life there, while being exiled by the Tsar.
