All four political parties in Uzbekistan have applied to participate in presidential elections

Almaty. January 20. Silkroadnews -  All four registered political parties in Uzbekistan have filed official documents for the presidential elections to be held on March 29, reported the Central Election Commission (CEC) of the Republic.
In accordance with the law "On elections of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan" they include a statement signed by the party to participate in elections, help the Ministry of Justice with information about the registration of political parties, as well as information about the future presidential candidate of Uzbekistan.
As stated in the CEC, the commission within five days will decide on the admission of the party to participate in elections and issue a registration certificate forms and signature sheets.
On January 15-16, the party held a plenary sessions, at which it was decided to participate in the presidential election. UzLiDeP put forward a candidate for president Islam Karimov, People's Democratic Party offers a chairman of the central council Hatamzhon Ketmonov, Social Democrats - the chairman of the executive committee of the party Narimon Umarov, DPU "Milly Tiklanish" - a member of the faction in parliament, director of the National Centre for Human Rights of Uzbekistan Akmal Saidov.
Previous presidential elections were held in Uzbekistan in 2007, following which the head of state for a period of 7 years was elected Karimov. He rules the country since 1989. According to the law, elections may participate any citizens of Uzbekistan from 18 years of age, except for recognized incompetent by a court, as well as persons held in detention.
