Another three container trains to run on Lanzhou-Minsk route till the end of the year

Almaty. November 16. Silkroadnews – Two container trains already run the freight traffic route Lanzhou-Minsk placed into operation in September through the territory of Kazakhstan and Russia, “Xinhua” agency says.

As scheduled another three trains will run from the logistics park of the new district of Lanzhou to Chinese-Belarusian industrial park “Great Stone” in Minsk before the end of the year, the article says.

Lanzhou-Minsk route is one of the areas of container rail transport network running from China to Europe. This June such routes, organized by the China Railway Corporation, got named “China-Europe Express”.

The length of the Lanzhou-Minsk route exceeds seven thousand km. In addition, similar routes, such as Chongqing-Xinjiang-Europe, Yiwu-Xinjiang-Europe, Xinjiang-Central Asia and others, have been opened within “China-Europe Express” project in many of the Chinese cities.

According to statistics, 1881 trains with goods to the amount of $17 billion were sent from China to Europe as of the end of June 2016. By 2020 the number of such trains is expected to reach 5 000.
