Almaty. October 2. Silkroadnews – Any attempts to destabilize situation during the presidential election to be suppressed in the harshest possible way, head of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev said at the security council meeting on Monday, the Kyrgyz Telegraph Agency (KyrTAG) reported.
“With the coming presidential elections, peace and conciliation are of special importance for us. We should not allow any provocations during the most important period for the country, but to ensure peace and security of citizens. If attempts are made to organize disorders, they will be suppressed in accordance with the law for the sake of the state and its future,” the agency quoted Almazbek Atambayev saying.
During the meeting the president has heard the report on situation in the country during the election campaign, measures to prepare for the elections with focus on national security provision with account of the Jogorku Kenesh deputy’s detention suspected of effort to organize mass disorders and forcible seizure of power.
President also stressed, the law enforcement agencies should take all necessary measures to ensure public order and security during the period of election campaigning and presidential election. The head of the state instructed the government to strengthen measures to ensure the country’s citizens could use their right to freely express their will in the presidential elections.
