Atambayev expressed hope for the realization of the Kyrgyz-Swiss projects in the economic sphere
Almaty. November 24. Silkroadnews - Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev during a meeting with President of the Swiss Confederation Didier Burkhalter on Saturday expressed hope for implementation of specific Kyrgyz-Swiss projects in the economic sphere, reports KyrTAG.
"It is worth noting that we really have a lot to learn from Switzerland. It's just a small country. They, as we, do not have oil and gas. But despite this, Swiss were able to achieve a GDP per capita of $88 thousand. The Swiss experience shows that the availability of natural resources is not an indicator. The main thing - it's stability, they have 4 state language, 4 ethnic groups. And they're there for hundreds of years as a multinational country. We hope that they will give us not only fish, but teach how to catch it. And I hope we will find joint projects", - said Atambayev.
He noted that the current visit of the President of Switzerland is the first in 20 years of cooperation.
In turn D.Burkhalter noted the firm conviction that Switzerland will continue to support Kyrgyzstan in the implementation of joint projects in various fields.
As reported by the presidents of the two countries, during the meeting it was agreed that Atambayev will pay a visit to Switzerland in March 2015.
