Atambayev instructed the National Bank to work actively on economy de-dollarization

Almaty. June 8. Silkroadnews – President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev met with the chairman of the National Bank Tolkunbek Abdygulov, KyrTAG reports.

During the meeting the head of the state has been informed on the leading macroeconomic indicators, measures taken to support price stability and promote economic growth, including increase in lending to the country’s entrepreneurs and farmers.

T. Abdygulov also said about reducing the level of inflation in the country to 0.2% in May 2016 from 3.4% at the beginning of the year.

“Banks capitalization continues, by July 1 of this year banks are expected to raise capital up to 400 million som, followed by further increase up to 600 million som by July 1, 2017,” he noted.

They also discussed the progress in realization of the state program to increase the proportion of non-cash payments and settlements in the country as designed for 2012-2017.

The head of the state noted that to reduce risks and ensure the economic security for the country the National Bank shall take active measures to implement this program directed to reduce the level of dollarization of the economy due to increase of non-cash payments in national currency.
