Australia started oil production in southern Tajikistan

Almaty. June 20. Silkroadnews – Australian company started oil production in the south of Tajikistan, Tajik Telegraph Agency (TajikTA) reports on Monday.

“In the south of Tajikistan Australian company Skyland Petroleum Limited began oil production in the field “Kyzyl-Tumshuk” near Jaloliddin Balkhi,” the publication says.

The field development was realized within the schedule and budget planned. The field development cost turned to be low and the profit will be directed to the production and development of other fields. The oil produced at “Kyzyl-Tumshuk” will be sold in the domestic market.

According to representatives of Skyland, “Kyzyl-Tumshuk” is not the only field in Tajikistan where they work. The company has licenses allowing to develop a series of other hydrocarbon deposits in the country.

Skyland director David Robson said the project is being implemented within the schedule approved.
