Beaver Habitat widens in Eastern Kazakhstan
Ust-Kamenogorsk. May 11. Silkroadnews – Beaver Habitat of Eastern Kazakhstan has widened and now spreads from the Shulbinsk Reservoir to the upper inflows of Irtysh river, as the nature department of the local natural history museum informs.
“Beavers inhabit Kazakhstan for thousands of years now. We have observed a decrease in their population for some time, however now they inhabit the entire right bank of Irtysh and its inflows”, the Museum’s zoologist, Sergey Starikov states.
The region is inhabited by 114 types of mammals, 400 types of birds, 3500 types of plants, and over 15 000 types of insects.
