Before the end of the year Tajikistan to produce a record 1.7 million tonnes of coal

Almaty. September 1. Silkroadnews – Before the end of the year Tajikistan to produce a record 1.7 million tonnes of coal, TajikTA reported.

«The coal-mining enterprises of Tajikistan commit to produce around 1.7 million tonnes of coal before the end of the year, setting a new record in this fuel mining», the publication says.

As of August 28 of this year, the coal output amounted to 770 thousand tonnes, which is 245 thousand tonnes more compared to the same period of last year.

There are 18 coal mining enterprises operating in the republic. Among them are the largest UE «Schacht Fon Yagnob», LLC «Talco Resource», UE «Ziddi», JSC «Angisht» planning to produce around 1.5 million tonnes of coal as a whole till the end of the year. The remaining 12 enterprises are expected to produce another 200 thousand tonnes of this fuel.

There are about 200 enterprises in the country which are the coal consumers.

To note, over the past two years Tajikistan witnessed a record coal production, which amounted to 870 thousand tonnes in 2014 and more than 1 million tonnes in 2015.
