Beijing. January 30. Silkroadnews - Beijing courts handled more than 36,000 cases of intellectual property rights (IPR) in 2017, the newspaper China Daily reported.
“Beijing courts resolved 36,800 cases concerning intellectual property rights (IPR) in 2017, more than doubled the number in 2013,” the report said.
It is noted that over the past five years, the Beijing courts have considered 125,000 cases of intellectual property rights, which accounts for one-fifth of such cases across the country.
About 5300 of the cases from 2013 to 2017 were patent disputes.
This year, a center to provide IRP services for high-tech companies will be established in Beijing.
The center will offer services for fast-track processing of patent applications in information technology and high-quality equipment production.
In line with China’s strengthening its fight against copyright infringement, Beijing created the country’s first IPR court in 2014.
