Beijing ranked China’s most developed city in 2017

Beijing. March 27. Silkroadnews - Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen are ranked as three cities with the highest rating in China’s Comprehensive Development City Index for 2017, Beijing Daily reports.
The index is compiled jointly by the National Development and Reform Commission and the Beijing Cloud River Urban Research Institute, and ranks cities by evaluating a number of development indicators that affect the quality of life.
So, according to the index, Beijing was the top ranked city. As the country’s capital, the city has advantages when it comes to access to a range of services. Beijing also has a rich history and culture that contributes to the quality of life in the city, the publication reads.
Shanghai ranked the second place and Shenzhen - the third, respectively - because of its environment, economy and society.
