Beijing’s authorities to pay citizens up to $72 thousand for information on foreign spies

Almaty. April 10. Silkroadnews – The Beijing National Security Bureau encourages the Chinese citizens to inform the authorities on suspected espionage activities for a cash reward up to 500 000 yuan (around $72 000), TASS reports.

According to the “Program on encouraging citizens to report on espionage activities”, the amount of reward will depend on the value of the information received.

Everyone can report on the threats to the national security or cases when foreign special services or other persons get access to information constituting the state secrets of China by calling a hotline, sending a letter or coming to the bureau office.

The minimum reward will make around 10 thousand yuan (nearly $1,5 thousand). For valuable information citizens can receive their rewards within 90 days personally or through their representatives.
