Belarus launched a telecommunications satellite from cosmodrome of China

Almaty. 18 January. Silkroadnews - As BelTA informs, the Belarusian telecommunications satellite “Belintersat-1” was launched from the Chinese cosmodrome “Xichang”.
“The satellite is designed to broadcast the television and radio signals, as well as Internet. “Belintersat-1” is designed for 15 years of operation”, the publication says.
It is noted, the satellite was designed and built by China Aerospace Science and Technology. Its size is comparable to a passenger car with the weight a little bit more than 5.2 tons. “Belintersat-1” is equipped with a solar panel with a maximum length of 22 m.
The project is the export-oriented and designed to maximize the sale of satellite resources to consumers. Among other services the customers will also be offered a service on building their own corporate networks based on satellite operation.
The President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko emphasized that further joint work on the development of space technologies will allow Belarus and China to expand their opportunities in the field of telecommunications services.
