Bishkek will host the EEU summit and CSTO leaders’ informal meeting

Almaty. April 13. Silkroadnews –  The meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council and informal meeting of the heads of the CSTO member states will be held at the Kyrgyz government residence Ala-Archa, near Bishkek, on Friday, press service of the president of Kyrgyzstan reports.

“A regular meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council and informal meeting of the heads of the Collective Security Treaty Organization member states to be held in Bishkek in April 14, 2017. The meeting will be held within the framework of Kyrgyzstan’ presidency of the EEU this year. At the suggestion of President Almazbek Atambayev, 2017 will be devoted to set the stage for business development in the Eurasian space”, the report said.

Within the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) summit the presidents of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia will discuss the topical issues of economic cooperation within the union, as well as the issues of international cooperation and further integration in the Eurasian space.

As the press service informs, the President of Moldova Igor Dodon will also take part in the meeting. The heads of the EEU states will consider a request by the Republic of Moldova on granting it the observer status for the Eurasian Economic Union.

During the informal meeting the heads of the CSTO member states are expected to discuss the issues of further development of the organization, as well as the deepening of cooperation in the field of the regional security provision.
