BP and CNPC signed second shale gas contract

Almaty. September 2. Silkroadnews – British Petroleum announced signing the second agreement on the shale gas exploration and development with China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), «Xinhua» agency writes.

As noted, the contract covers an area of about 1,000 square kilometers at Rong Chang Bei in the Sichuan Basin, in southwest China.

CNPC is the operator of the Rong Chang Bei deposits.

Earlier BP and CNPC signed the first contract for the shale gas extraction. The contract on the joint exploration and production at the Neijiang-Dazu block in Sichuan Basin was signed on March 31, 2016. The contract covered an area of about 1500 square kilometers.
