BRICS declaration to contribute to stabilize situation in Afghanistan, former president H.Karzai says

Almaty. October 18. Silkroadnews – Former Afghan President Hamid Karzai believes the agreements by the BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) could be a significant factor in stabilizing the situation in the country, TASS reports.

“I think the agreements between Russia and India on Afghanistan can become a significant factor to bring the stability in Afghanistan”, H. Karzai said.

Earlier, on October 15, Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi within the framework of the BRICS summit in Goa, India. The agenda of the talks included discussion of bilateral relations, situations in Syria, Afghanistan and other countries, fight against terrorism.

Earlier, the BRICS countries adopted a declaration in which they expressed concern with continuing security problems in Afghanistan.
