Beijing. June 4. Silkroadnews - Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the British-Iranian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sirous Mehdizadeh said British companies are interested in expanding cooperation with Iran, the Iranian Telegraph Agency (IrTAG) reports.
In this regard, the British companies wishing to conduct business with Iran are eagerly awaiting new EU instructions to counteract U.S. sanctions imposed against Iran, Mehdizadeh noted, Mehr News Agency reports.
In his recent talks with several British businessmen and entrepreneurs, he expressed the hope that Europe’s practical approach to the JCPOA introduction without the U.S. would create conditions for the cooperation of British firms with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
It is expected that the European Union will adopt new instructions to counter the transnational sanctions imposed by the US against European companies within the next few weeks, he also said.
The British government opposes the U.S.’s unilateral withdrawal from the JCPOA and fully supports this important agreement, he said, adding “in this regard, British government works very hard with the remaining members of the deal in order to keep JCPOA alive.”
