By 2025 Iran shall build nine new nuclear power plants

Almaty. March 9. Silkroadnews - Within the next ten years Iran shall build another nine nuclear power plants, the deputy and spokesman of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Behrouz Kamalvandi said, TASS agency reports.
“The country shall build nine nuclear power plants in next ten years to bring the generating capacity of all the Iranian power plants up to, at least, 100 MW by 2025,” - said B. Kamalvandi.
According to the Ministry of Energy of Iran on 2015, the country’s power plants are able to generate 73 thousand MW.
B. Kamalvandi also emphasized by that time about 8-12% of the total electricity in the Islamic Republic shall be generated by the nuclear power plants. For their construction Iran intends to attract both domestic investment of the private sector and foreign investments.
According to the official representative, during the post-sanctions period, i.e. after beginning of realization of the nuclear agreement between Tehran and the six world powers (the five permanent UN Security Council members and Germany) starting as of January 16, 2016, Iran has already received several attractive offers for the construction of nuclear power plants based on different conditions of financing and credit provisions.
