C.I.A. asks Trump to allow air strikes on the territory of Afghanistan

Almaty. September 18. Silkroadnews – The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) appealed to the U.S. President Donald Trump to allow drone strikes in Afghanistan territory and other war zones, the Afghan Telegraph Agency (AfTAG) reports.
If the U.S. president approves this initiative, the C.I.A. will for the first time receive the right to air strikes in areas of active conflict, which formerly remained with the Pentagon. In addition to Afghanistan, it can be related to the border areas of Pakistan, Libya, Somalia, Yemen, Pajhwok agency reported.
According to the C.I.A. Director Mike Pompeo, Obama’s administration needlessly limited the country’s ability to fight terrorism. He suggested that Trump extending the C.I.A.’s authorities in the fight against armed opposition in Afghanistan.
To remind, in August Pompeo made an unannounced visit to Afghanistan, where he met with the country’s leaders – President Ashraf Ghani and Prime Minister Abdullah Abdullah.
