Almaty. July 24. Silkroadnews - Capital outflow from China last year by estimations of Lombard Street Research, reached $800 billion, informs "Kommersant".
"According to The Daily Telegraph, citing an analyst of Lombard Street Research, Charles Dumas, capital outflow from China last year reached $800 billion. By estimations of the Robin Brooks from Goldman Sachs, only in the last quarter, it increased by $224 billion, which illustrates the deep crisis in the country", - the newspaper writes on Friday.
According to R. Brooks, the Central Bank of China was forced to spend significant reserves of foreign currency reserves to protect the yuan. According to estimates by R. Brooks in the second quarter of this year, the central bank bought bonds for $48 billion.
The volume of China's reserves is estimated at about $4 trillion, which means that the volume of such withdrawal of capital abroad could become a really serious problem for the economy, not only China's, but also for its raw materials partners Russia and Brazil, analysts say.
Nevertheless, the People's Bank of China leads other figures. According to the bank, over the last 12 months (until June 31, 2015) capital outflow was $300 billion. Of course, this amount is also impressive, but much less than the figure of Lombard Street Research.
